The UJIMA FUND

We Take Care of Us. Always Have. Always Will.

The Ujima Fund is a mutual aid fund created by and for underpaid, underemployed, and excluded workers in Philadelphia—especially Black temp, gig, and formerly incarcerated workers.

Named for the principle of Ujima—collective work and responsibility—this fund provides direct support for workers facing crisis, instability, or retaliation. Whether it’s help with rent, transportation, or groceries, the Ujima Fund is about showing up for each other when no one else will.

We don’t wait for permission. We take care of us.

  • Emergency aid for temp and gig workers

  • Transportation support to job sites

  • Relief for housing, food, and healthcare gaps

  • A safety net powered by solidarity—not charity

Together, we’re building a new kind of economy—one rooted in transformation, care and solidarity.
